Volume LTL

Less-than-truckload shipments that typically take up between 1/4 and 3/4 of a 53' trailer by weight or length. Although the terms "volume LTL" and "partial truckload" are sometimes used interchangeably, volume LTL shipment rates are established by the LTL carrier, and partial truckload rates are dictated by the market. Volume LTL is used when price is a shipper's primary consideration, whereas shippers more concerned about timeliness or potential damages to their freight typically prefer to pay higher partial truckload rates.
