Headhaul

Headhaul refers to a load heading from its origin point to its destination, so simply speaking headhaul is a load moving from point A to point B. On the other hand, a backhaul is the return trip of a load across part or all of the original route it took to get to its current location. Backhauling ensures that the optimum amount of goods gets transported throughout the ship's journey efficiently.
