Pallet

(airfreight) Large, flat portable structures, usually airline-owned, to which cargo is strapped for safe aircraft loading and transit. They're typically made of aluminum and measure either 96 x 125 inches or 88 x 125 inches. (maritime) Short, flat platform made of wood, metal or plastic that's used to support packaged goods or containers. The process of stacking and strapping cargo consignments to pallets is called palletizing.
