KeepTruckin AI Dashcam Review

A dashcam is a valuable tool to keep you, and your drivers, protected on the road. An AI dashcam goes one step above and can alert you to unsafe driving behaviors. It can help you stop accidents with real-time alerts.

As a fleet manager, it will be a valuable tool to keep you, your employees, your company, and everyone on the road safe. Below you’ll find our review of the KeepTruckin AI Dashcam and how it adds value to the trucking industry.

How Does KeepTruckin AI Dashcam Work?

The KeepTruckin AI Dashcam is similar to a regular dash cam, but with a few other stand-out features. This state-of-the-art dash cam uses AI technology to detect unsafe driving events, such as a driver using their cell phone, following too closely, or speeding.

When an event happens, an alert is immediately sent to the cab to ensure the driver corrects the behavior in real-time. This tech keeps the roads safer by stopping crashes before they happen, which improves your company’s safety and can lead to insurance savings.

KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam FAQs

Since you’re here doing research, it’s safe to assume that you want to know the ins and outs of the KeepTruckin AI dashcam before making the investment. To help you with your decision, we’ve provided the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about this smart dash cam.

How Do I Connect My KeepTruckin Dash Cam?

To connect your AI dash cam to your vehicle, you’ll start by cleaning with an alcohol swab the USB side of the “Vehicle Gateway”. After cleaning, take the USB cable and pull the sticker that covers the adhesive end of the cable off. Insert the USB into the Vehicle Gateway and hold for 10 seconds.

Next you’ll select a mounting location for the dash cam. It is recommended to use the top center of the windshield where it doesn’t obscure your view of the road or the sweep of your windshield wipers.

On the back of the dashcam you’ll see a main screw that you should loosen with your finger. Adjust the mount so it is flush against the windshield and the camera is pointing down. Hold the camera in this location, be sure the cable is running from the top.

Before you remove the adhesive sticker, you’ll want to test your mounting location. Open your KeepTruckin Driver App and select your Current Vehicle. Add the dash cam, then view the images to ensure that there is a clear view of both the road and the driver.

If you’re satisfied with this location, remove the sticker off the adhesive and mount the road-facing side of the dashcam to the windshield. Hold for 15 seconds to ensure the dash cam is attached firmly.

Last but not least, you’ll need to secure the USB cable along the edge of your windshield with the clips provided.

Does KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam Record Audio?

Yes. The KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam records audio that you can listen to later in the event of an incident.

Is My KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam Footage Stored and For How Long?

If you have a DC-53, the local storage is overwritten after 104 hours. If you have a DC-54, the local storage is overwritten after 66 hours.

What’s The Difference Between the KeepTruckin AI and Smart Dash Cam?

While the KeepTruckin AI and Smart Dash Cam both provide images of both driver-facing and road-facing experiences, the AI cam provides real-time alerts. This means if a driver is employing any risky behavior, they’re sent an alert immediately to correct it before an incident occurs.

Performance Factors of KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam

If you’re looking for a dash cam that improves safety while covering your assets in the event of an incident, look no further. This AI dash cam provides real-time alerts while on the road if your driver is maneuvering the vehicle in an unsafe manner.

This has helped other businesses see a decrease in accidents by 32%. Additionally, the dash cam provides the video footage needed in the event of an accident. It automatically stores video footage of an accident that can help protect your drivers and business.

With the video footage, you can show if your driver was not at fault during an accident – which could lead to substantial savings for insurance and settlements.

How Has the KeepTruckin AI Dash Cam Improved?

KeepTruckin initially created the KeepTruckin Smart Dash Cam. While this cam is a great investment for fleet managers and uses technology to record incidents such as accidents, hard braking, speeding and more, it left a window open.

While it allowed fleet managers to be alerted to coach drivers later, it didn’t not provide real time feedback. The AI dashcam now provides that immediate feedback. Driver on their phone? An immediate alert will be sent. Driver following too close? Another alert.

This provides the real-time coaching needed to help reduce accidents and unsafe driving behaviors.
